Last night Arctic Monkeys revealed their brand new track You’re So Dark,  b-side to single One for the Road. The song is released on December 10th and can be previewed above. As dark and dirty as the title suggest, expect driving baselines, classic Helder falsettos and some sneaky song references. Who else could create a B-side that could rival there lead singles ?

AlunaGeorge - Attracting Flies

Following the massive success of White Noise,  with Disclosure earlier this month AlunaGeorge's follow up track had a lot to live up to. Luckily upcoming single Attracting Flies, premiered by Huw Stephens on Radio One earlier this evening, hits all the right buttons. With witty lyrics, and Aluna's distinctive vocal style, it has a real sense of honesty often lacking in modern music. The songs catchy electronic sound makes it instantly addictive to the listener undeniably a future hit.

Here's betting after it's release on 10th March Attracting Flies will only add to AluaGeorge's ever growing success!

Everything You Exhale is Attracting Flies

At only 18 Jake Bugg has been cited the future of music, the boy with the soul of a man; but will he change the way we listen to music, or is this all hype?

It is true he is a somewhat unconventional teenager, when most are crowding round to watch talent shows he rejects them, “it doesn’t seem genuine, it doesn’t feel natural” he told one interviewer. It is this attitude towards our manufactured pop society “which mostly sounds like cr**, to be honest”, that influenced him in his unique style.

He sounds like a 60s pop veteran, more Bob Dylan than Justin Bieber, although often associated with Dylan he cites modern bands such as Oasis and Arctic Monkeys as big influences. Lightening Bolt, Bugg’s first single and hijacked by Bolt at the Olympics, has an echo of early Beatles Skiffle. Psychedelia pulsates through Green Man, B-side to Taste It, taking you back into the heights of the hedonistic 60s. A shot of Libertines-esque urgency here and an ounce of Monkeys worthy wit there brings his sound sharply to the modern day.

With tales of broken homes and the drudgery of day-to-day life Bugg’s music resonates far deeper with the average person than most  written by men twice his age. With a number 1 album already under his belt, Bugg is guitar music’s answer to Justin Bieber, and he’s giving him a run for his money.
